In September 2010, I purchased a new Ford Everest at Alberton Barloworld Ford. In December, at 5000 km, the vehicle had a problem with the 4X4 function that got stuck. Port Shepstone Ford collected the vehicle and addressed the problem with what they called a 'wind-up' on the gearbox. Since then the gearbox started jerking when it changes gears, and there was a vibration present. (This is an automatic transmission) I complained to Ford Customer care and had the vehicle back on numerous occasions with no positive results. The technical advisor of Ford Motor Corporation inspected the vehicle and decided to replace the gearbox. The gearbox was replaced and the problem is still persistent. The vehicle has been back and forth to Ford for the past year and still no progress is made with the problems. They already replaced the shocks twice, the universals, the differential (I think), the common rail, the injectors, and the roof lining was repaired 3 times, discs were replaced at 26000 km.
I had the vehicle towed 3 times already in the year I had it and the one time I had to pay R9000.00 to have it towed from Kuruman. I spent more than R 4000.00 for diesel on a trip to P.E. and back, (The vehicle could not even get 80 km/h but the car did not make the trip, I had to have it towed once again! I refuse to accept that this car can be repaired; I refuse to take this car back as I bought a NEW car, not a rebuild. I simply cannot believe that Ford will allow their customers to endure this treatment! Ford has such poor service that they don’t even give their Dealers feedback on the situation.
