BMW really dropped the ball on this one! They're using cheap inferior valve stem seals! It's a very stupid place to cheap out on a vehicle, and BMW would not cover it and wanted $9200 to replace them. Fortunately for me, there's a huge aftermarket fix for this problem that is a far less expensive solution.
Tools that allow you to replace the seals without removing the heads or cams for around $1000 or less.
