Slow, progressive deterioration of the rubber component of the door handle. The inside part of the handle is made of rubber and the rubber has become soft and sticky and rubs off on your hand every time you try to close the door. Have been told by BMW technician the entire door handle assembly needs to be replaced since the rubber part does not come separate. Trying to close the door is a true pain in the ass.
