I'm devastated that my 2017 Chevy Equinox with 72k miles, had blew the rear main seal. It had been parked for 3 days while I was out on travel. I live in a cold climate, but on my way home from the airport which was an hour away, the rear main seal blew. spewed oil all over my engine. Now I'm stuck paying for a new engine. How can this happen with a practically new vehicle? In researching the issue now, it seems that this is an issue for people who live in cold climate areas. I live in Northern Minnesota. Chevrolet should warn people before purchasing vehicles if they cant withstand a harsh Minnesota winter. I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle knowing this.
