Known problem with this A/C condenser on this model but my VIN number was not available for the extended coverage. Typical of General Motors.

Vehicle stopped cooling. Mechanic completed a flush which did not hold so I had to replace the condenser.

A/C condenser (combi-cooler) refrigerant leak

The Tahoe is not that old, a 2017 and has low mileage at 70,325 - the condenser should not be going out this soon. The parts are not holding up to their standards, which therefore brings down the Chevrolet name. I may not ever buy this brand again just because of the trouble and money we have been through. Vehicles and parts use to last forever before they break down. With GM they need to make this right and recall the issue and rebate the customers. Also was told this was happening to a lot of customers. It’s terrible you have to drive a piece of junk at such a new value.

Tahoe LS V8, Ecotec3, 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,800 miles

Took it to the dealership, they said that the issue is the same out listed in Special Coverage Adjustment.

17336 - Air Conditioning Condenser (Combi-Cooler) Refrigerant Leak.

However, my specific VIN number was not covered. I called the Chevrolet Customer Service number to see if they would do anything about it and they said they couldn't. I read there was at least one other person who was aware of the recall and was told the same thing. I wonder how many other people have had this same thing happen to them and they not even know that it was an issue known to Chevrolet?
