Changed oil regularly, finally what happened was the weep holes to lube timing change and guides plugged with sludge and the left bank timing chain fell off causing the pistons to crash into the valves, at least that's what I was told when I took the car to get the engine rebuilt... The sludge was so bad I needed a new oil pan and rocker covers..... Until then the Durango was a great car..... The car sat since 2008, finally I had the engine replaced 2015 and the car runs great again.... Looks great, it sat in a garage so long it does not have the rust most other Durangos have in the same era.....
