CarComplaints.com Notes: The top problem trend for the 2014 Escape is transmission failure at around 70k miles.
This is relatively low mileage for an expensive transmission failure ($4,500 average to fix), but unless the trend becomes more established, we are only awarding the 2014 Escape our "Beware of the Clunker" badge for now.

We had the vehicle for 5 years when we traded as we were fed up. The winter before we traded, we started losing coolant with no check engine light on so we just continually topped it up.
In July 2019 the check engine light came on so I immediately took it to Ford and they recognized what was wrong. We had been dealing with this issue for six or seven months so we decided to trade it in. We lost money and had to buy another one. Very very frustrating!!
