This has been ongoing for the past three or four months (off and on, or intermittently). I found it annoying that I had to re-start the vehicle and put it in gear, and then back in park to clear the issue. I was surprised to find this particular complaint woven into the fabric of others complaints (same vehicle make, year and model) when investigating the newly initiated "growling noise" that is emanating from the electric steering assist system these past 4 days, or so. The "noise" is NOT intermittent, and the steering is now erratic, but still working at present. The information system has not reported any type of failure yet. I am calling the dealership later today.
