My wife calls me to inform me that her Ford Explorer is having issues wanting to shift to a higher gear/ confusion of what gear needs to be in at certain speeds. AGAIN ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE NOT COVERED BY OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY SOLD TO US AT PURCHASE. This will make the 3rd major issue within 2 years and again we contact our warranty company to be told the HIGH PRICED EXTENDED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WE ELECTED TO COVER THESE POTENTIAL COSTS WOULD NOT COVER REPAIRS. We where also told that now we asked/ told them about the issue that they would not cover other covered repairs potentially related to a failure.
At this point we are filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau given Ford Motor Company is not only aware of common issues but has a monopoly on parts needed for fixing these common problems and by the way they will not warranty the repair unless it is repaired by the Ford dealer mechanic. How exactly is this not a conflict of interest? "BUY AND REPAIR WITH US OR ELSE" at a higher price then our family mechanic. Am I the only person that sees the monopoly??
