I contacted the selling dealer 2 weeks after I noticed the issue and was told that as this was a used vehicle, there was nothing they would do about it. I said there must be some sort of warranty on paint corrosion and was handed a paint pen and said they would cover that and that was it. So I drove home past another dealer and was told that this was an issue Ford has been dealing with for some time and the only way to fix it is to replace the hood on the car... so I contacted Ford the next day and was told that their corrosion warranty did not cover peeling paint and as it hasn't perforated the panel, and that I would have to absorb the cost - but it was noted that I called and complained about it.
Mind you, I can probably get another couple years out of it as it just looks like an orange peeled paint job we know ford is good at, but in Canada I am probably looking at 1500.00 for a new hood and having it painted the dreaded black. So with Fords, it is buyer beware and on a 4.5yr old car this should not happen... It also happened on my 2008 Escape with the paint peeling on the underside of the hood.
