CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013-2014 Honda Accord is showing signs of an electrical problem with the starter failing soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. It's compounded by reports that the OEM battery doesn't have sufficient amps to start the V6 reliably after a year or two.

For now we are rating this problem with the "Beware" seal because it's occurring so soon after the 36K mile warranty expires. The upshot is when your Accord won't start, that's never good, but especially bad when it's just a few years old.

Also once again, owners are complaining that the 2013 Honda Accord seats are uncomfortable. Uncomfortable seats has been a significant complaint with the Accord since the 2008 model year.

The radio would stop working, screen would give some kind of odd message.

First time, I took it in and they 'fixed' according to the technical service bulletin. One week later, happened again. This time they had to keep it, call a Honda computer programmer who researched and advised how to fix.

Now, the radio occasionally says 'no signal' but will work if I turn it off and back on.

I am thinking that with this occurring 2 times already, a similar radio issue - all within the car being 1 year old and now the radio and driver car seat motor problems, my electrical is going to go. And those are just the issues I have reported. There is one more related to electrical that I have said anything about yet.

This problem started within the first week of my car back in March 2013. They reinstalled software and every so often it reoccurred. It practically disappeared. Since my iPhone was updated to ios8 the problem is reoccurring. I have been advised by Honda that the ios8 causes some problems with the phone and the stereo functions but the last two weeks have seen more occurrences. My source button and the switch songs arrows on the steering fail to work at times, the radio buttons freeze more often, the audio mutes until I change the source, my voice activation button on the wheel fails to trigger the voice control. It is happening so often that I need to bring it back to Honda. This time I will call in a complaint at Honda HQ.

IF THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING OVER A COUPLE OF HOURS, WHEN YOU START IT UP, THE AUDIO FREEZES UP. YOU CAN'T PLAY THE CD WITHOUT REBOOTING THE SYSTEM WITH A SECOND STOP/AND RESTART OF THE CAR. I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM REPORTED NUMEROUS TIMES FOR ALL OF THE AUDIO SYSTEM COMPONENTS. IT MOSTLY EFFECTS MY CD PLAYING.

I HEAR THERE MAY BE A TECH RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND WILL INVESTIGATE.

HOW DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS PASS "SIX SIGMA" QUALITY CHECKS ON A BRAND NEW, TOP END MODEL?

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HONDA QUALITY?

This stereo system's reception is horrible. I keep getting a "No Signal" message when I drive on the highway where there are a few trees on each side of the road. When I drive my Ford Truck, I don't lose any signals on the same roads. Honda needs to address this issue. I wish I could get an after market radio to install in it, but hate to pull this radio out after spending good money on it. Do they make a signal booster for this vehicle? I took it to Honda this morning and they said they couldn't duplicate it and all the test equipment they used said there was not issue.

Brand new 2013 Honda Accord: The touch display does not render all the buttons correctly. This has been intermittent with biggest problem being the smaller buttons at the bottom of the touch screen. The circle buttons at bottom.

Only way I have found to solve this is to turn off car and restart. The display will remain in tact until car is turned off. In other words it only happens at start up not during normal use.

This is not solved yet.
