I must admit to some consternation regarding the Hyundai Accent timing belt..having to replace (thank God, under warranty) at 52,998 miles, mechanic at Hyundai Dealership said it would be good for 50K. Well, didn't make it, and now car is in shop, and I might have to have a new engine?? Guess I kinda thought that a foreign-made vehicle would be a better purchase in 2001, as the American made cars were not doing well with customer satisfaction.
I have been very faithful in the maintenance of this car, with oil changes evey 3K miles as ex-husband warned me to do faithfully (or the world would come to an end) lol, and have all maintenance and gasoline records for this car which have been kept since I drove the car off the lot. No accidents with this car, and had hoped to get at least 150K miles out of it, but alas, I kinda don't think that will be the case. Will be difficult on a retirement income to purchase a new vehicle.
