After filling up my tank, I started to drive off and noticed the car would not accelerate or shift up. There was a terrible grinding/clicking noise so I pulled into the closest parking lot. Once the car was at a transmission shop it was taken apart, the shop found tons of metal shavings in the transmission due to a breakdown of an internal component in the transmission. The breakdown had to be going on for a while, I glossed over the shifting problems and signs leading up to it.

The option was either 4500 for a remanufactured transmission or 3k for a used transmission, both with a 1 year warranty. Went with the used one, and I'm disappointed that my first new car had this issue, I want to keep it for as possible. Hopefully the replacement transmission does the trick.

CX-5 ES 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,000 miles

Was driving going about 45/50 mph and vehicle just lost power was still running but would not go! Was almost rear ended if the car behind me didn't have time to switch lanes. My dashboard lit up with lights that were never on AT, Transmission or engine, brake, traction warning lights. Had to turn car off let it sit and drive a few more feet had to repeat this about 4 times glad I was close to home could have been a totally different post if we had been hit from the back.

Car has jerked and jarred forward since purchased was told it was the skyactive technology performed and not to worry. After another complaint was told it was my 2.0 engine giving me the ruff drive and not to worry that too was normal that they were no longer using that size and if I want to trade it now would be the time. I love my Mazda but I no longer feel safe driving it and I do not trust the car to be dependable after yesterday. At this time car is in the shop waiting to hear what the issue is. ZOOM ZOOM fail!

CX-5 2.0L

The car revs hang up in 2nd gear. The technicians are a bunch of assholes as they say it should be like that. In First, third, forth, fifth and sixth there is no problem. While driving and gears are changed from 2nd to third, at approx. 3500 revs, with the clutch is depressed the revs lock at 3000 revs for around 3 seconds causing the engine to race.
