CarComplaints.com Notes: Except for a minor issue with cracked motor mounts, the 2006 MAZDA3 is a fantastic vehicle with a great reputation.

If you need to replace the motor mounts, first ask your dealer if they'll cover it -- the motor mounts were dealt with in a TSB & were recalled for some model years. Otherwise buy aftermarket motor mounts -- owners report this solves the problem. If you use the same OEM parts, they may just crack again.

I also have the same rusting in the areas that others complained about. Obviously, there is a defect in this model which is causing them to rust in the same body areas.

Mazda 3 has a known problem but is not being addressed my Mazda Canada. All these vehicles rust at the trunk around the Mazda emblem and around the rear wheel wells.

I will write to Mazda to have these issues addressed and compensated accordingly. There is no way that Mazda should not be held accountable for a problem that exists with all Mazda 3 vehicles - 2006 and I'm sure others as well.

Who else is having this problem?

rust around the trunk brake light and fenders

I bought my car and it had the extra ultra bullshit under coating etc.

I noticed a friend of mine who has the same car, that it was rusting around the rear brake light and rear fender wheel wells. Her car is a 2005.

A year later I noticed mine and kept cleaning it up hoping it wouldnt get worse.

It is getting worse by the day.

I dont know if there are recalls on my car, I have never heard back from Mazda...I have written letters and called but nothing.
