The contact's husband owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at 35 MPH, a loud thumping noise and vibration was coming from the front passenger-€™s side wheel well. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the front differential, Part Number: (68257421AG) to be replaced; however, the mechanic stated that the part was on national backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 207,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving various speeds, the rear differential made a loud abnormal noise. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls and referred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
