Burns through about 3 quarts of oil every gas tank. Problem has gotten so bad to the point that massive clouds of smoke are blowing out of the exhaust. Was told by a mechanic that the only fix is a rebuilt or new engine, so either way you're talking thousands to fix it. You may be able to slow the burning rate with a thicker viscosity oil, but that's about as much as you can do without a rebuilt or new engine.
