Like many of the complaints that I have read, the transmission first started slipping then it would simply not go when put in gear. The dealership (Acura) advised me to have the transmission fluid flushed. After this was done the vehicle drove normally for awhile then started doing the same thing. I contacted the dealership again and they said that I would have to bring the vehicle in again to run diagnostics test which would cost me more money. Between the recalls that had already been taken fixed by the dealership this vehicle in my personal opinion is not safe to drive and will never purchase an Acura again!

After test driving an 06 Acura MDX that had Transmission/VTM-4/Blower motor/wheel bearing problems....I did not see the writing on the wall and purchased another 06 MDX with what seemed to have no issues until one morning it would shift into a false neutral before going into 2nd gear then catch and slam into gear. But then after the first mile it would clear up and then sometimes it wouldn't happen at all, then eventually it just did it all the time and the dealer said it would be $6800 for a Acura Manufactured tranny and $3800 for a used Honda!!!!

Holy cow!!! Then I did my research to find that this is a chronic problem with Pilots and MDX's!!! BOOOOO HONDA!!!!! I bought this on the premise of Honda being a stellar product that can go 300k before major work!!! Not so! Remind me to stick with what I know to be tried and true reliable (Mercedes/Nissan/Volvo) as I have ran all these brands well passed 200k and some past 300k. HELL, even a Geo Metro does better than 124k before needing a transmission!!!

2006 MDX - problem with transmission problem - dealer said I may need a new torque converter - I have been reading about in these forums with my transmissions--the 'rumble strip noise', the torque converter, bad shifting-- I have 105k miles, local dealer says soon I will need trans to be replaced. today check engine light came on and dealers says I need new catalytic conveter. I just had my timing belt replaced and didn't expect transmission problem on vehicle after only 105k!!! I kept it well with regularly scheduled services What is my best course of action? Please help, I need links, history of trouble with 2006's, any experiences you may have had that can help me push this through. Thanks
