MDX Tech 3.5L

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

WE HAD THE CAR FOR JUST 4 YRS, PURCHASED CERTIFIED FROM ACURA WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND WITH THE CERTIFIED WARRANTY. BEING ADVICE THAT CAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRE BY A FEW MONTHS EVEN THOUGH IT IS STILL UNDER MILES. CERTIFIED WARRANTY EXPIRES ON 07/2020.

TOOK THE CAR ON A 20 MILES TRIP AND CAR STARTED SOUNDING HORRIBLE. HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO ACURA. DEALERSHIP IS ADVISING THAT A PISTON ROD HAS FAILED AND WE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE LONG BLOCK OR GET A NEW ENGINE. FAIL IS CAUSED WHEN THE ENGINE DOESN'T LUBRICATE ENOUGH. ALL OIL CHANGES HAVE BEEN DONE ON TIME AT THE ACURA DEALERSHIP.

I have been to the dealership 3 times for the same complaint, engine noise/chirping, on the third visit, the finally "heard" the noise... said there was a bulletin about it, said they fixed it.. picked it up but still making the noise!

What gives, this expensive of a car should NOT be making this much noise.

the day we purchased the vehicle, my husband asked the salesman why the motor was knocking. he said its not, its the interseptive motor, its supposed to sound like that. its has a warranty. well, its annoying to crank up your brand new car and hear it ticking all the time.

2014 MDX, this is my second MDX. I was happy with older model and was anxious to get a brand new model with fancy design update. This rattling noise, which lasts few seconds, I took it to the dealer at least three or four times and the mechanic ask me to drive around to reproduce the noise which is not constant. Apparently many people experienced same problem yet Honda/Acura's reputation, their attitude is "if you cannot reproduce the noise, won't fix it". It is very difficult to guess we all are imagining.

Before it is too late to damage the reputation of Honda permanently, they better hurry up and figure out how to fix the problem. Among my family, we had and have several car lines of Honda and Acura. Maybe it's time to switch to different brand to give them a lesson or two.

Brought the car in first in July 2013. After 15k started hearing the ticking noise from engine when you accelerate at 60 mph or more. Let the Acura dealer know, but the tech said that they didn't hear. First acura and very regretful that I bought this car. So I will bring to another Acura dealer and see they find the problem.
