Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

My car (Acura TL 2006) caught fire on 11/09/2007 at 10:00pm cst while passing by a mcdonalds drive through; at 6233 N broadway, Chicago il. The mcdonalds cashier first noticed the smoke coming out of the hood and pointed it out to me. I pulled the car in the parking lot and tried to put out the fire with my jacket but it only grew bigger. A standing by police officer noticed the incident and pulled me away from the car. 911was called and the fire department arrived in 2 minutes. The car burned during that time. The firemen were able to put out the fire. Acura is refusing to accept this as potential defect in their car. This is clearly an example of a badly manufactured vehicle that jeopardized my life and the life of people around the car. I would like to request that an investigation be initiated and Acura be held responsible for this.
