CarComplaints.com Seal Of This Might Hurt

CarComplaints.com Notes: 2015 Acura TLX owners just want a transmission that can get from 1st to 5th gear without feeling like a washing machine full of bricks. A class-action lawsuit wants answers for why the car’s transmission jerks and hesitates just months after the transmissions were recalled and replaced for not being able to shift into park.

Myself and my wife used the same key to drive the Acura TLX and we have different styles of driving a car, she is more mild because she drives 20 minutes a day and I am driving 2 hours a day and have to push the acceleration a bit more harder to reach on time. The problem is that all our actions are recorded and it messed up the car and when I press the brakes, it accelerates for 2 seconds and then it brakes. I think this issue might cause an accident one day. We went to Acura and they tested the car and advised us to use different keys since the car remembers our driving style. In my opinion this should still not make the car accelerate when you push the brake.

I owned several Honda/Acura and the past so when I bought this car I did not test drive it thinking it's an Acura. I was wrong, we had this problem since day 1. I brought it to the dealer twice already and I was told the first time that there is nothing wrong with. The second time, the tech test drove with me (I'm the driver) and we went around some roads that had plenty of stop signs and this time it does it, I basically tell the tech...there it is. At the end of the test drive, the tech said it is characteristic of the 8th speed transmission. I brought it for change oil and the check the transmission and said there is nothing wrong with, so I ask them to just document it so that I have evidence that I'm complaining about the transmission. My wife refuse to drive this brand new car because of this problem and that is sad. I'm hoping that the dealer elevates this problem at the corporate level instead of keep saying it's normal. I'm looking into signing up with class action lawsuit, either they fix the car or take it back!

9 speed tranny is sub standard. It jerks when cold. It hesitates after stops. It does not engage when entering traffic. It also causes the engine to surge at slow seeds. A dealer software update made the condition more frequent!

TLX hesitate from stop or shifting from reverse into drive. The engine revs, but the transmission hesitates and then slams into gear lunging the car forward. This is not only very embarrassing, but extremely dangerous as the car has done this in parking lots and even in my son's car line at his school. The lunge is so unexpected and could potentially hit a person or car before you even have a chance to hit the brake. Acura states they have no knowledge of this problem.

Seen multiple people complain about this same issue. From a stop or rolling stop if you press the accelerator there is sometimes a hesitation. My dealership put some sort of software update on the "transmission control module", but that hasn't solved the issue.

I had a 2001 Acura CL-S with transmission problems. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't had brand loyalty.

Hi, bought myself a new Acura 2015 TLX-AWD for a Christmas present for myself in December 2014 and when first driving it I noticed a delay when stopping at an intersection and when I would continue to drive, I could feel a hesitation when pressing the gas, but thought it was normal. I was watching the news last night and saw that they had a recall on 2015 Acura's and mentioned something about the transmission. So this morning I got onto the Internet to see what information I could find out and I came across this site. I have not heard anything from the dealership that I purchased my car from, so I will be calling them today.

This problem is very annoying and unacceptable for a car of this price. My dealer told me there were no problems with this transmission: it was supposed to work that way.

This vehicle often hesitates when moving from a stopped position causing the car behind to almost slam into my rear. Happens when cold or hot. Engine doesn't rev. As if the gas pedal does nothing for a second or two. Have taken this in multiple times for this and the transmission making a HUGE pounding sound (another problem already entered). Dealer acts like I am from outer space when I describe the problem.

Update from Mar 10, 2015: Took the car to another dealer and they updated the xmission software. ALL PROBLEMS WERE FIXED. It took a complaint to my state's Attorney General and the threat of a lemon law to get anything done. Hinshaws Honda in Fife, WA did NOTHING to alleviate my problem. Took the car to Seattle Acura at Southcenter and they got right on it. The software fix took care of the transmission jerking and the hesitation. The car rides like a dream now. I also complained to corporate and spread my disatisfaction to anyone who would listen on social media including Acura owners group. In short...I was an ass.
