CarComplaints.com Seal Of This Might Hurt

CarComplaints.com Notes: 2015 Acura TLX owners just want a transmission that can get from 1st to 5th gear without feeling like a washing machine full of bricks. A class-action lawsuit wants answers for why the car’s transmission jerks and hesitates just months after the transmissions were recalled and replaced for not being able to shift into park.

I posted a message about the poorly shifting transmission, but also want to note the grinding/slight vibration I get in the car at 1500 rpms. This never goes away and while not dangerous, extremely frustrating for a "near-luxury" vehicle. I can get rid of it if I slow down or go faster and it gets worst the longer you drive the car. I have taken it back 5 times and met with the regional rep after software updates and a supposedly new transmission. Nothing has helped and according to the rep, there is nothing else they can do - high gear transmissions are "supposed" to do this. Very disappointing from a company formerly known for excellent reliability and product refinement.

TLX V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 7,000 miles

Bought my brand new 2015 V6 Acura TLX fully loaded in August of 2015 (Car manufactured 7/2015) My car now has 7,000 miles. While driving this car the transmission jerks between gears, shifts gears and speeds up unexpectedly, you notice this when you are approaching a stop sign or Red light. If cruising around 25-40 MPH transmission shifts and you feel grinding and vibration in the steering wheel. If you park this car on the slightest incline it rolls before fully engaging into park.... I took my car to Superior Acura in Fairfield, OH (original purchase) FOR THE TRANSMSSION ISSUE.... They told me that "these new cars learn our driving habits and we need to do a Idle re-learn....I mention the past transmission issues/recall; they told me my TLX had all the new software updates... .The Idle relearn did not fix my issues; now my car is making a "chirping" sound...My car goes back to the dealership on 2/8/16 , we shall see....THIS CAR IS A LEMON!!

I welcome any thoughts, suggestions....dmelton1@woh.rr.com

Not happy! Car has less than 1600 miles and it's in the shop for repair on the transmission. Acura is aware of the problem. The car should be recalled. We were driving locally and noticed this problem all day long. We really could not believe it. It's a brand new car. We were planning to take a trip to Portland next month. I guess we have to rent a car.
