A3 Cabriolet 2.0t

  • Automatic transmission

After owning four other Audis, this was the first time I've ever had an issue. Unfortunately, this issue was significant -- at 700 miles (after owning the car for less than two weeks), my car started jerking, heaving, and the RPM revving at about 6500...the car was hesitating and within a few minutes an error message popped up on the driver information screen saying"your transmission is malfunctioning -- reverse is not working -- you may drive carefully to your nearest Audi dealer."

The car labored along the 5 mile ride to the dealer. Upon conducting the diagnostics at the dealership, Audi indicated that a new transmission was needed. Having spent $48,000 on an A3 convertible, it's been frustrating that I'll be missing out on using the car for at least two weeks while the car is being repaired.

A3 Premium Plus Quattro 2.0t

  • Automatic transmission
  • 127 miles

engine light on, yellow warning light about transmission

Hard to believe this out of the box experience with an Audi vehicle. Not even 500 miles and the transmission needs to be replaced. I picked up the car on a Sunday (April 12, 2015) and that Saturday (April 18, 2015) car had to be towed back to the dealership. Car only had about 127 miles at that point. Because the service department does not work on Saturdays, the earliest I'll be able to get my car back seems to be April 27. That's assuming they can install the new transmission by then.

Let's see, that means I've had the car for about 6.5 days while Audi has had for 9.5 days...
