excessive oil consumption

My local Audi dealer in Denver, CO, Prestigue Audi, refused my repairs after accepting them. They tested and validated the oil consumption issue and then refused me stating my ECU was modified. My ecu programming has been the same as when i purchased the car three years ago. My engine was already removed from the day and broken down, as they checked the piston rings. I had also approved other repairs such as the timing change. The dealership also was charging me for seals that are to be covered under the lawsuit.

At this point I can only contact the legal firms who were in this lawsuit and see what they have to say.

From day one, our Audi Q5 2.0T has used oil. I called the dealer to advise of the issue, as the consumption was somewhere around 1 quart in 1,500 miles. He advised that it was normal for this model to use that much oil. Ever since I have carried a quart in the boot cubby with the compressor.

It has slowly gotten worse. My wife advised last week that she had to put in a quart after 246 miles. The car has 66,000 miles on it. I took it on a long drive to see if it could be short drives doing it, as it normally isn't driven more than 10 miles round trip at any time. Drove around 350 miles at interstate speed and it still required a quart. Really concerned something has happened to the engine now as it seems to be low on power. I am going to try draining the charge air cooler to see what is in it.

I am using Castrol Edge 0W-40 502.00 spec oil, but this stuff is like water. I can't find anything else heavier.

Anybody have any ideas I am open to suggestions!

Really headache! Since I bought this SUV at SGD210K in Aug'11, everything should be nice except the engine oil problem. My last Toyota car never had such problem, never refill engine oil except during car service for every 5K or 10K. But for this Q5, first time, around 2500km, I had to refill 1L, after then, even if I use the best and most expensive engine oil, but only could last 1000km, for last 3 months, only last 300-500km, I had to refill it every week, sometime twice a week!

Checked with car service company, advised that it is quite normal for this model, but if 1L could only support 300km, I believe it shall be not normal!

This model has everything you want - on paper, but it is not practical. I was shocked to see I was out of oil only months after purchasing the car brand new. To make matters worse, there is no dipstick to check the oil if on the side of the road and unsure whether it is just a computer glitch.

As well, this vehicle's MMI (on board computer) does not offer enough options to do basic things like select the volume of the radio when the car turns on. There's only one volume - LOUD.

I am so disappointed in this car and am looking to switch to the Volvo. To be stuck on the side of the road THREE times with the oil light on, is not very comforting. Audi says - that's normal consumption for the vehicle. I don't like the idea that I have to fill the oil every 1000 kms. Ridiculous. Would warn you not to buy this car.
