My car has been at the BMW shop for four months. The purpose of me taking my car to the BMW shop was because my 2012 750li BMW had transmission problems. When I got there [xxx]. stated there is a recall on the engine and he say it will be fix. Four months later the manager [xxx] call me and tell me I have to pay $ 9,600 for the parts and the labor work. [xxx] stated my car did not qualify and I had to pay 45%.I believe I was ripped off because I believe there was nothing wrong with my engine and the transmission was only $3,318 and now he charging me so much money. I am very disappointed only because when I took the car in March 2019 he could had gave me a price and not four months later. I told him why would he fix the engine if I didn't qualify for a free one and why not call me and tell me that I will be paying 45% out of my pocket. On top of that he has the nerve to call me on July 2019 and tell me the car has a new engine but all the old components was transfer to the new engine then he say that I need to pay extra because he did not fix the transmission. My complaint is why fix the engine if there was nothing wrong with it just to make money from the customer. If I took the car to the shop for transmission problems that would had cost me $3,318 now he wants $9,600 can some one please investigate this problem. Here is my VIN [xxx]. sent from yahoo mail on android information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

There is white smoke that is coming out of the back pipes of the car. The car is burning through oil. I am putting a quart in every 2 -3 weeks. My mechanic said that it is having the same problems as the 2009 model. The 2009 750I has been recalled to fix the engine problem and I have a 2012 model. The smoke comes out when I am driving not when it is stationary on the city street, highway or wherever. I don't feel safe. I am going to start driving more distance and I don't want to run out of oil and cause more damage to my car. I don't understand what is happening with the oil consumption. There are other issues surrounding the car. I am not a mechanic. But, I would like to file a complaint. This car was supposed to be in excellent condition when I bought it.

The transfer case on my car stutters when accelerating from a stopped position or under moderate to heavy breaking. Traction on snow becomes limited because the stuttering cause tires to have more or less power spontaneously. This stuttering was confirmed to be a defective transfer case when unplugging the transfer case module. BMW confirmed the transfer case as defective. The vehicle currently has under 56,000 at the time of this posting.

Engine failure (with only 60K miles on it) while driving at 70mph within minutes of warning light saying 'drivetrain malfunction'. the engine shut off, car went into neutral and I had to manually steer and brake to get to the side of the freeway. Within minutes, the battery died, so I couldn't even put the car into neutral to get it onto the flatbed tow truck. I eventually was able to get it towed to the dealer where I bought it cpo in 2015 and have had it serviced (I had even had it serviced there 3 weeks before this incident). The engine had received the "customer care package" in 2015, and I've only had it serviced through BMW dealers. 3 days after I had the car towed to the dealer, the sa told me there was a complete engine failure and they would replace the engine. It's been there for 4 months now, waiting for a new engine, and the manager of the service department can't provide an estimate on when the new engine will arrive. I contacted BMW na, and they were also unable to tell me when a replacement engine could be expected. I'm not even sure I want a replacement engine that has the potential to fail again.

The contact owns a 2012 BMW 750ix. The contact stated that the vehicle idled whenever the contact attempted to accelerate. Also, when starting the vehicle, the engine would backfire and the check engine indicator illuminated. The dealer repaired the solenoid valve, fuel injectors, control air bushings, and air take box among other repairs; however, the failure recurred. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 50,100.

The engine malfunctioned in my car while driving and is a safety hazard to myself and others on public roads with multiple engine parts identified by the manufacturer to be defective. The car sporadically stops operating with full power and there have been several reports of instant engine failure while driving. BMW issued what they have called the N63 customer care package on Dec. 29, 2014 to address failures on the engine regardless of warranty and mileage, but have denied this service for my vehicle. The defective engine is in the following vehicles: F01 and F02 (7 series sedan)' produced from 3/2009 to 6/2012 F04 (active hybrid 7)' produced from 4/2010 to 6/2012 F07 (gran turismo)' produced from 9/2009 to 6/2012 F10 (5 series sedan)' produced from 3/2010 to 7/2013 F12 (6 series convertible)' produced from 3/2011 to 7/2012 F13 (6 series coupe)' produced from 7/2011 to 7/2012 E70 (X5)' produced from 3/2010 to 6/2013 E71 (X6)' produced from 7/2008 to 6/2014 E72 (activehybrid X6)' produced from 9/2009 to 9/2011 I purchased the vehicle with 40,429 miles and Michigan rebuilt salvage title in may of 2016 after it was in an accident in August 2015. The position of BMW is that they will not perform the service on the vehicle now as it was reported as an insurance loss, but likely thousands of these vehicles operate on public roads legally with rebuilt titles. I feel the condition is a true safety risk and should be handled under a recall to require proper correction and ensure public safety rather than a discretionary service from BMW to protect their reputation and expenses. Attached is the Michigan rebuilt title and document for re-certification showing the repairs did not include the motor. Also included is the correspondence with BMW and a photos of the vehicle after repair.

When entering the on ramp to merge onto the highway. I accelerated to merge into traffic and car vibrated violently and would not accelerate. I continued to press the accelerator but nothing happened and a message appeared on the display. Now, I'm stuck between the on ramp and the highway with a tractor trailer rapidly approaching. He barely has enough space to merge to his left and avoids rear ending me.this could have been catastrophic. I continued to press the accelerator and nothing happened. I put my hazards on and quickly read the message. It read, "maximum engine output not available." So, I turned the car off and restarted it, and it worked fine for a few hundred feet until I tried to accelerate. It did the exact same thing but this time it allowed me to creep along at 35 mph. I pulled over into the emergency lane and turned it off and on again, and it worked as normal. But this time I just continued to drive to work at 35 mph. During work, I scheduled a service appointment the next day. After work, I pulled out of my parking space and something popped and once again it stalled. After turning it on and off again, I was able to drive it home. The next day at the dealership, I was informed of the customer care package (recall). But what I didn't know at that time, the car had already been recalled with the previous owner. A lot of the same work was duplicated. Btw, this is a 2012 750li with 37,000 at the time of the second occurrence. The first occurrence happened at 29,931. It happened again 2 months later. This vehicle is unpredictable and you don't know when it will stall on you. The last repair reduced the powertrain output and takes a deep gasp before accelerating. Please read BMW's customer care service. The number of repairs are too numerous to list on the remainder of this thread.

The contact owns a 2012 BMW 750li. While driving approximately 35 mph, the check engine and power train warning indicators illuminated as the vehicle began to shake and white smoke came from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that after coming to a complete stop, the vehicle continued to shake. The vehicle was restarted however, when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle began to shake again. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the failure was unable to be determined. The technician replaced the fuel injector however the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer on four separate occasions, for the same failure but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,274.

This car experiences multiple drivetrain malfunction codes, looses power at intervals when driving, leaks oil from seals which creates white smoke from both the exhaust pipes and from underneath the hood. It also has a rough idle and every so often, the check engine light comes on. BMW should be ashamed of themselves for having these ongoing problems with their cars in this day and age.
