This should be a recall. This many windows to pay to have fixed is not right for the buyer....

One by one, the power windows all failed through November 2011. The V6 works at high heat continuously and performs well. A power window is raised and/or lowered occasionally but fails within 70,000 miles.WHY DO POWER WINDOWS, WITH BARELY ANY USE FAIL, WHILE A V6 ENGINE, OPERATING UNDER CONTINUOUS BRUTAL CONDITIONS KEEPS ON TRUCKING?

Window simply falls down as the cheap plastic guides behind the door panel fail. I know you are supposed to report individual incidents separately, but I am just reminded today that over the last year all 4 windows have had to be fixed, and the 4th and final window window fell today.

Century Custom 3.1L V6

It's really annoying to me that everybody is complaining about the same exact problems with their Century that I am. If GM knows that all of these problems exist then shouldn't they be held accountable for their workmanship. I am a roofer and if someone has a problem with a leaky roof then I have to go back and fix it. Shouldn't automobile makers be held to the same standard for their work?

Century

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,900 miles

I just inherited my Buick Century from my mother. The car actually has 17,900 miles on it and the windows failed the third time I drove it. First the driver's window and the next day the back driver's window. I read where this is a common problem, but I wouldn't think it should happen with so few miles on the car. I hate to think what's going to happen in the future.

Come on Buick, 3 out of 4 windows fall down into the doors with in 2 months of each other. I know that cars start to have problems with ENGINS around 90000 miles, but the WINDOWS. WHAT A JOKE!!! 2 windows fell down with in a week of each other and no one even touched them, they were in the parking lot, and just a few days ago I went outside in the morning and overnight a 3rd window is down. Duck tape only works to hold them up for so long in the hot AZ sun believe me I have taped 2 of the windows up for the last few months several times because $400 PER WINDOW is ridicules to have them fixed.now that the 3rd window is fallen down I may have to just throw away this piece of crap car because it will cost me more to fix the windows then the car is worth!!! (anyone know what will hold them up better then duck tape in the hot AZ sun?)

Century Limited 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,488 miles

I have Three windows in my 2001 Buick Century that have malfunction. I got one fixed on the Driver side that costed $400 and it broke again. I wrote to GM and complained they called me and acted like they were going to help me with this problem because I told them that this is unnatural for 3 windows in a car to malfuntion the same way. All of the windows just dropped down into the door. I'm waiting for the last one to do the same. I only use the driver side window regularly. At first they were nice and acted like they were going to do something about it, then they passed me from one person to another and finally told me that my car was too old and asked me why don't I just buy another. I said I will, but not another GM car of any kind. This window deal is a cash cow for them. Each time one malfunctions it over $400.

Century 3.1L

  • Automatic transmission

Both power window motors failed and had to be replaced. A lot of people said they had the same problem with Buick's power windows failing. I don't use my windows often, so I am really unsatisfied that they stopped working.
