This happened about 3-4 years ago but for stat purposes I'm putting this down. Around I'd say before August there was a very loud engine knock and I didn't know what it was at first. I had to get the problem diagnosed from a mechanic we always used and thankfully he helped us out as he had spare parts to get rid of. I had this problem looked at and then fixed. I've not had an issue with the engine since then.

I do believe as great as GM corp is - they will do the right thing and recall and/or reimburse folks having the appropriate documentation for this repair.

It is a good time to continue to let folks know GM will stand behind their vehicles and their customers. Customer service is half of a great company.

There are enough folks experiencing this issue to warrant a full recall.

LeSabre Limited 3800

I see that others have experience the same problem. When I finally checked the Buick web site I found that they had a recall because of the backfire problem that tends to crack the intake manifolds but my car had the recall part replaced 3 + years before the manifold cracked. Unfortunately the car was towed to a non dealer shop and estimated it to cost a lot less than it actually did. A week later the water pump blew and that was a very easy fix. the chicken before the egg? What caused what? About a week later the car stated stalling out. Just once every once in a while but now seems to be getting worse. The dealer said to change the fuel filter(is changed) and if the problem gets worse to bring it in for a diagnostic and have a mechanic work on it. I have read on the internet that this has let to some very expensive and unnecessary part replacements. Seems like a complete power drop for a second or two while on the highway but just dies while at idle or slow driving.. For now ithe car restarts but worry that one day it will not. Where will I be when that happens? I guess I will just tell myself to have a nice day!!!

After a difficult start (engine would turn over but not start) it ran really rough and a friend watching me leave the parking lot saw a lot of white smoke coming from the tailpipe. The engine ran so roughly that I pulled over and had to be towed to the mechanic. The mechanic said this was a known problem in GM cars of this year, and after researching on the Internet I find that in Canada they are putting together a class action lawsuit because so many cars have had this problem - and GM has known about it but never issued a recall. Being stranded is no fun - had I not had my cell phone with me, it would have been much worse. GM should make things right with people who have had the inconvenience and expense of having to replace one of their cheap, plastic and poorly designed intake manifolds!

My car started jumping, then went dead as I was on the road on a hot summer day. I had to get it towed to the dealer, fortunately the tower was nice enough to drop me off at home on the way. It was a weekend, so I had to sit home for 2 days til the dealer opened and worked on it. I read on-line a few months back that there was a possible recall, but when I called my dealer, he said GM hadn't ok'd one yet...... I'd like some compensation if possible.

I am going to write the president of Buick about it now. Otherwise, I've been pretty happy with my car.
