This was a very nice car when first purchased new. We have had Buick LeSabres for quite a number of years and had planned on keeping this one for another 100,000 miles or more because they quit making them. The car was in excellent condition on the surface, as had been every other LeSabre we have owned. This one, however, had a major rust problem. The brake lines were corroded irreparably and the entire brake system needed to be replaced. This was discovered when it had become necessary to perform a faster than normal stop. Upon braking more forcibly than normal, but well within the range of controllability in order to avoid a collision, the brake line blew out both front and back con-currently. When towed to the shop for repairs, on a flat bed. The mechanic attempted to raise it on his hoist and the frame crumbled. I was told that if I had been driving the car at that moment, the car would have broken in half just behind the front wheels. This would have dropped the back of the engine onto the ground and disconnected any chance of steering the car. If the brakes had not rusted as bad as they did, the frame crumbling would have caused an even worse scenario for the final outcome. This piece of quality American workmanship could have killed my entire family and/or contributed to the demise of many others. I am completely appalled by this situation, outraged even more so.
