Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact swayed to the right to avoid crashing into the vehicle in front of him. He crashed into a telephone pole and the front air bags did not deploy. There were no prior warnings. The fire department and ambulance arrived and the contact was taken to the hospital. A police report was filed at the hospital. The insurance company has not determined if the vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle has not been repaired at this time. The failure mileage and current mileages were 7,100. Updated 08/12/08 the consumer stated the estimated damage was $7800. Updated 08/12/08

I had entered a left turn lane and had gotten over the line into oncoming traffic. Another vehicle struck me head-on at approximately 50 miles per hour. My air bags (side and front) did not deploy. I struck the steering wheel with my right chest (the seatbelts worked). It took over 6 weeks for the blood accumulation and bruising to subside. When I called my Buick dealer, they told me that if I had not hit the front bumper in the center, that the airbag might not deploy. I consider that nonsense, since even the motor mounts were broken, resulting in the vehicle being totaled.
