The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lucerne. While driving approximately 70 mph, a strong burning odor was present. The contact drove home and shut off the vehicle. Two hours later, the vehicle would not start and was towed to an independent mechanic. It was diagnosed that the rear fuse box terminal burned and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,100.

The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lucerne. The contact stated that the vehicle had an abnormal burning smell and would not operate. In addition, the cruise control did not operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuse box overheated and melted, which caused the fuel pump and various other electrical components to malfunction. The technician diagnosed that the fuel pump and fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle needed to be recalibrated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lucerne. While driving at an unknown speed, the engine stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the fuse block was defective and caused the fuel pump module to fail. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 77,602. Updated 09/24/14..updated 09/25/14 the consumer states the vehicle would not start. However while driving on 9/13 at various speeds the engine died. It died once again for the mechanic.the diagnostic showed the vehicle was not receiving fuel. Updated 2/24/2015
