Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Rendezvous CX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,000 miles

The fluid from the A/C condenser started to leak the day after we had it at the local dealer to replace the intake manifold gasket as well as the manifold gaskets. It had never leaked before. We immediately took it back to the local dealer and they said it would cost $851 to replace the A/C condenser. The Service adviser told us that it's not uncommon for the A/C condenser on both Rendezvous and Aztecs to fail due to the movement of the unit. He mentioned something about the flexibility of the brackets and that during the repair different brackets would be used. That also makes us think that perhaps this occurred because of inferior, faulty or incorrect brackets or could be a design flaw. We have never had an a/c condenser fail on any of our previous vehicles.

let alone at only 51,000 miles.
