Every time I go over a bump, my dash lights go on and off. It starts blinking and bells and whistles go off. Sometimes if you tap the dash it starts working again, or if you shut car off and restart it the dash lights come back on. Help me please. I don't have the money to fix it at a shop right now.

When purchasing this vehicle, and starting it up, I patiently waited for the lights to go out, but never did....

Check Engine, ABS, air bag indicator, 6 chimes, then 4 chimes.... but they stop after a short while...

I have asked a mechanic about these lights, and all he can say is "have to check each one out"...

I am an old retired person, trying to get-by on a small pension, and can only afford a little at a time for repairs.

Think I got "Stuck" with this one........

My husband and I bought a used 2002 Buick Rendezvous. We really needed and new and bigger car. We saw this car and even though used it was pricey but at the moment it was well worth it. We bought this car almost 3 years ago, and the past 2 years have been pure hell with this car. One night my friend called me up and needed a ride because her car was at a friends house and she needed a ride to it. On my way home after dropping her off I stop and get gas. I turn the car back on, and my doors start locking and unlocking, my lights inside and outside the car are going off and on, the radio was going off and on, the windows were working and not working, and I was freaking out! I turned the car off and waited a minute and turned it back on and it was fine. It did this for about a year on really hot days and really cold days. Then all of a sudden my windows didnt work, my air didnt work, my radio didnt work, my inside lights didnt work, my outside lights didnt (brake lights and blinkers still worked) and the back of my car didnt open, couldnt acess the back. And its still like that! I have to turn my lights on manually, lock the doors manually, my husband had to rig the windows so they roll down. We have 3 kids and dont have the money to go back and forth to places to fix this thing! I wanna know how I can report a complaint and have them recall all these things to be fixed! There are times I feel unsafe to have my kids inside this car!

I bought my car used with 23000. on it in 02 it is a 02 so still had the warranty on it. Car was awesome no complaints what so ever until at 92000 on a hot summer day on my way to a wedding I turned the air on (which I don't do often) all of a sudden the windows started rolling up and down, doors locking and unlocking radio going on and off and every light on the dash flashing as well as intermittent horn honking. Got off the freeway and into a garage and even though the key wasn't in the ignition horn continued to go off. It went away. next warm day 85 degree drove from work 8 miles it started all over again. I called the dealer who told me I probably needed a new battery so I had it replaced 2 days later it started again, I pulled into a shop and a mech. came out and thought if he reset the battery it would stop it didn't, said I should take it to the dealer. Several trips there with the whole system going crazy was told to leave it there and the would look at it and it might take 4 or 5 days to be diagnosed I tried to explain it only does it in hot weather and we were scheduled for rain so it wouldn't do any good. Weather cooled and it stopped. Then all of a sudden it started it again, took it to the dealer 4 more times was told the same thing. Then it started doing only parts.. gauges saying all wheel drive disabled, chk brakes abs no longer working. doors only letting me in on drivers door and not being able to open any of the other, still no help from the dealer. I called to see the cost of a BCM which my son had found my car matched those systems $300, and only the dealer can program it but they wouldn't sell it to me, wanted to make sure that was what it was and it would cost even more for them to determine thats what was wrong. Finally I found a independent shop who after 10 minutes on their computer came out and said BCM. Now they had to take it to the dealer and because I was such a pain they are taking it out on me by taking thier time to program the computer so I can have my car back.. This is a real issue the abs brakes pulse and I still have not gotten my car back due to the dealers control issues. Lets see what they find and how much they will charge to fix what I knew all along was the issue. Going to go to local news if this doesn't stop.

I have had the car almost 2 years and no problems... Recently I have found out that my dash lights flicker and when I go to lock the doors the driver door will unlock itself. Not to mention that the radio is going on and off... I was told that it could be the BCM computer or the radio could be going out... lol what could it be?

i will never purchase another rendezvous again! I am very unhappy with the difficulty in doing any repairs to this model. I loved it at first, when it ran right, but now i am just ready to get rid of it! The electrical problem it seems to be having is one that NO ONE seems to be able to figure out or fix, and that is quite frustrating! The vehicle acts as if it is possessed! all the dash instruments and the radio go on and off at will, and there is no obvious reason for it. It seems to be linked to the extreme Hot or Cold, since this is when it seems to happen most. I have taken it to 3 mechanics, and 1 dealer, and they are all baffled. WTF! Like i said i won't ever buy one again. I think GM should recall them for this problem and fix it for free. This vehicle costs enough without these hefty fix it bills. If anyone has any idea on how to fix it, please fill me in as i and many others i know are stumped.

Thank God we bought an extended warranty! The third problem I had just 4 1/2 months after purchasing the car. The dash board lights would flicker, the CD player would eject and the pull the CD back in, and then at times the car would not even try to start when you put the key in to crank it. They kept my car for 5 weeks while they tried to figure out the problem. I pitched a fit and insisted they give me a rental car, and that since I had bought amn SUV they had to rent me an SUV! By this time I had turned into a MEGAB**CH!!!! They would call me and tell me that it was fixed and it would start acting up before I could even get home. Once I drove the 35 minutes to the dealership to pick it up and went and put the key in the ignition and it would not crank.... I blew my lid in front of the entire group of about 45 customers and workers that were there. I told them that they had not better call me again to pick it up and it not be right. I told the customers that were their exactly what crap I had dealt with and not to buy a rendezvous! By the time this had worn on for about 3 weeks they decided that they wanted to get rid of me enough to do whatever to get it fixed and get me out of their face!!! I had to fight with the Buick dealer to get them to not charge me anything for the repair. I told them if they didn't I would go to the consumer reporter on our local Atlanta NEWS.... After much back and forth they did replace the Computer. but as I said in another post, I having the car 3 days and having to have the intake gasket replaced and then the transmission, then the computer, then the drivers window mechanism breaking, then now the intake gasket is having to be replaced again and this time the warranty has worn out!!!!! I Loved the car when it is not giving problems, but..... too much trouble for me!

This is by far the worst car ever made. 1 problem we have had is the dash lights and radio lights will go so dim that they can not be seen and then they will magically come back on for no apparent reason. Dealer can't figure it out and is definitely a real pain in the butt. However this is probably the most minor of the issues that I have had with this junker. Read my other post to find out more!

Ok well here's the deal, when the inside of my car gets hot all of the dummy lights on the control panel flicker on and off, then when that happens the windows take forever to roll up and down, the air conditioning won't get cold and the radio goes on and off. I also had a problem w/my ac before this. It turned out to be that my condenser was bad. That cost about $800 to get fixed. So when I took my car in to get the Ac fixed I told them about the electrical problems and they said the wires were corroded underneath the drivers side seat. They put silicone sealant over that and said the lights wouldn't flicker anymore. Well, the next day (in mid afternoon, when it was nice and HOT) I turned the car on and low and behold, the lights were still flickering and the air wouldn't get cold. If anyone has had the same problem and knows a solution, I would appreciate it soooo much if you would share it w/me.
