This is the 3rd window regulator/motor I've had to fix. The first 2 happened in 2010 within a few months of each other (1st the passenger window went down while vacationing in Lake Tahoe, had a lovely drive home w/ the window open and snow blowing in! 2nd window was the driver window). How has Buick not recalled these chinzy products they've used in our door windows? Although I just need a regulator for this window, back passenger side window, they do not sell the regulators separate from the motors so I need to pay for both...$384.00. Hopefully I will be in a new car (not a Rendezvous!) before another window regulator breaks!

One morning as I was leaving for work I noticed that the window on the passenger side door was down and when I tried to use the button to roll the window up it wouldn't do anything. As time progressed it kept falling down more and more. We had to keep pulling the window up and rather than look totally tacky and tape the window back up we chose to wedge something down beside the window to prevent it from sliding down so quickly. Fortunately we have a friend that is a car dealer and was able to get us the part we needed at a very reasonable rate.

Definitely a design issue, with Buick cutting corners with an inferior plastic clip broken, the whole regulator assemble had to be put in for $365. Shame on GM!

Definitely a design issue, with Buick cutting corners with an inferior plastic clip broken, the whole regulator assembly on the front passenger side had to be put in for $460. Driver side of regulator had been replaced 2 years ago. Shame on GM!

Had 3 window regulators fail within 30 days, looked for recall, talked to Buick customer service, they advised me to get a diagnosis from dealer ($89.95) and if same part failed they would try to assist with cost of repair ($1100). Dealer confirmed all three windows, same problem, failure of window regulator assembly (plastic parts broke and window fell down). Reported diagnosis (and comment by service advisor that it was a poor design to begin with). Buick called dealer to confirm, all details were confirmed, BUT DEALER TOLD BUICK THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO MILEAGE (100500). As a result no financial assistance from Buick. Was able to find parts online for $80 - $100 including motor (dealer charge was $225 per window for part) and I am sure I can find someone to install for less that the $150 for labor dealer was going to charge. What a joke. No one even rides in the back seat of my vehicle and the rear windows were the first to go. Up until the windows all fell down, I loved this car, loved everything about it, would have bought another one, raved about it, but now.....it didn't even qualify for cash for clunkers.

I've had to replace the window regulators in driver's side and rear passenger's side at two different times. Dealer wanted $500 for parts and labor each time. I did the job myself for the expense of the part $247.00 each!

Leaving church one Sunday, I hear this loud pop. I assume that my husband had run over something, but no. It was simply the 3rd window motor messing up. The front window motors had already gone out. Because of the price to repair the back window motor, I had a local window man to simply fix it so that it couldn't' move.

Thank God we bought an extended warranty! The fourth problem I had after purchasing the car was the window regulator broke in the window front drivers side. But as I said in another post, I having the car 3 days and having to have the intake gasket replaced and then the transmission, then the computer, then the drivers window mechanism breaking, then now the intake gasket is having to be replaced again and this time the warranty has worn out!!!!! I Loved the car when it is not giving problems, but..... too much trouble for me!

This is a problem for the fact that you have to ride with the windows all the way down or tape on the windows to hold them up very very very annoying

While driving down the road in the middle of winter the driver side window fell inside the door. Power window would not raise window back up. Drove to mechanic in 15 degree weather to have an expensive window regulator installed.
