I have an '04 CTS with 118.000+ miles, and was stopped at a red light when the car just shut off. No warning, no dashboard illuminations, nothing. Just a cold stall. After a few attempts to start it, it finally started up.

On a different occasion, after the car was parked I attempted to start the car and it failed. It sounded like it wanted to start but never turned completely over. Not sure of why this happened, I took it to 2 local autoshops and had it put on the machine in search of a trouble code. Everything checked out. No battery issue, no alternator issue, no electrical, nothing.

I took it to the Cadillac dealership right at closing time and while explain to the Master Service Technician the car cut off again. The only thing he could offer was a $130 diagnostic check. The next day I attempted to start it but it failed again. I end up having to tow it in. My mechanic put it on the scanner twice and found nothing. Everything checked out. He test drove it today to see exactly how and what happens and it cut off on him too. The tow truck is on his way to get the car now as I type this complaint.

My mechanic did say he would check the Power Control Module, but I have yet to see if this is the problem. Cadillac is aware of this problem and refuses to initiate or place this under any type of recall.
