My stability system engages at random times. Also randomly, the service stability system soon light comes on accompanied by a dinging sound. When the stability system engages it feels like my car automatically taps the brakes for a split second. I have not fixed the problem yet due to a lack of capital (broke as a joke!). I plan to fix it soon and I will let you know the definite fix at a later time. I have read blogs about this situation and the most common answer was it was a Steering Wheel Speed Sensor that is causing the problem and it need changed. They are about 80 bucks on autozone.com. However there was a person on one of the blogs who worked at a Cadillac dealership and really knew the stability system of the new Cadillacs. He said that is was probably a SWPS, which I assume is a Steering Wheel Positioning Sensor. I haven't found one of these for my year vehicle but I have found them on earlier Deville years. Maybe he's talking about the steering wheel speed sensor or maybe he's right but most of the responses of people who had it fixed said it was the speed sensor. Will let you know for sure soon.
