2004 Cadillac Deville I have also had three window "regulator" (raise-lower) mechanism failures in the last year. Current mileage is about 82,000 miles and car is otherwise properly maintained. I also had the "knee bumper" below the steering wheel fall off and it too had to be replaced.

1. there is no warning the car just slow down at any speed and turn the steering wheel. 2. it happen all day long and other days no problem. 3. I have taken the car to one dealership for repairs at least 3 times and once in va. Each time they either did nothing or they guest at it because they could not figure it out. Now they refuse to work on it until it totally breaks down. However, the employee of the dealerships have charged my warranty company at least 5,000 and the warranty company does not want to pay any more money for guessing. Therefore the dealership is asking me to pay $94 an hour so they can guess some more. Lastly, I was told when leaving the dealership that I declined further diagnosis which is not true. He also told me that it looks like a possible major electrical problem and if that's the case they are waiting for a major car fire before they try to correct the problem. In that case it could be to late for me, my girlfriend and her children. One or all of us could be killed in a electrical fire. I have had this problem every since I bought this car 04/27/2007, and the last incident was 07/07/2009. Updated 01/13/10.

: the contact stated after owning the vehicle for 45 days the electrical system failed. All dash board lights completely went out without warning, the door locks opened and closed intermittently. The vehicle has been seen by the dealer a total of 11 times and is currently in the shop. The dealer made undetermined repairs each time and the problem always returns. Speed has never been a factor in the electrical failure, as it occurs at a variety of speeds.

The vehicle's emergency flashers and turn signal lights continuously blew out without warning. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the dealership has found bare wiring in the wall between the motor and the dashboard, where the wires have been pulled through. The dealership has replaced the flasher unit and fuse several times but the problem still occurs. The cause of the lights blowing has yet to be determined.
