Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. When it rained, water would leak around the sunroof. The water leaked into the side curtain air bag. The dealer stated that the drain hose was not originally installed; therefore, they installed the drain hose and replaced the side curtain air bag. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle downshifted into second gear and began to spin. The check engine light illuminated. After it finished spinning, the vehicle stopped. The contact could not accelerate past 30 mph while driving home. The dealer stated that the range switch in the transmission failed, but the cause of the failure was unknown. The dealer replaced the range switch. While driving 25 mph, the vehicle surged forward. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle would not slow down for 3-4 seconds.
