Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

While starting the vehicle there was a loud series of popping sounds followed by some smoke which came from under the hood. The engine was quickly turned off and the smoke cleared. The hood insulation shows a slightly damaged/stained/heat effected area above the alternator. The vehicle was subsequently restarted several times and has been checked by the dealer and no problems could be found or duplicated.

Purchased brand new 2014 Cadillac Escalade from penske in torrance ca, beginning of Sept. 2014. Vehicle refused to start on at least four occasions. Then while driving into a gas station, the vehicle lost power and power steering, causing a crash at a gas station. I am unable to get penske in torrance ca to look into the problem. They are declining to do anything to look or fix the problem.
