Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

problem #2

Sep 132004

SRX 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30 miles

The consumer felt that the brake and gas pedal was designed too close together. The consumer foot gets stuck underneath the brake pedal.. brake pedal is curved to the right-bringing it too close for people with wide shoes like me. Also, firewall on right is very close to gas pedal so you cannot move your foot to the right to get more clearance. I feel this could cause a few seconds delay in reaching brake pedal in emergency, which could result un fatal accident.
