The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Sts. The contact stated that the differential seal did not meet GM's specifications for the 2007 model Sts. The vehicle dragged during acceleration. When he shifted into reverse, the differential jammed and prevented the vehicle from moving. The contact also experienced difficulty maintaining proper control of the vehicle. He received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number 07V589000 (power train:axle assembly:axle shaft:seal). The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they stated that they would get to him when they could. When the vehicle jammed, it threw the occupants forward and injured the contact's 4-year old child. The current mileage was 16,515 and failure mileage was 16,485.
