After doing a lot of research it turns out this is a common issue amongst similar vehicles models made from 2007 to 2011. Chevrolet has done nothing to resolve the problem and to make it worse you have to replace the entire dashboard. Not only that but between they changed the part model starting in 2012 and now charge approximately $160 more for the same part then of course you have to pay out the backside for labor which more than doubles the price to replace.
