- the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo with a current and failure mileage of 15,000 miles. The contact was hearing a crunching sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle taken to the dealer, serpentine Chevrolet, several times, but they could not find the cause of the problem. When the contact took the vehicle to the local mechanic they found that the rear axle was bent, which caused the coil spring to rub against the body of the vehicle. Also, the mechanic stated that the bent axle could have happened at the time the vehicle was manufactured. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer for repair, at which time, it was discovered that the front suspension system was loose as well. The dealer replaced the front sway bar, and the bushing, and tighten all the bolts. When the dealer test drove the vehicle after the repairs they found that the engine cradle needed to be replaced. The consumer stated there was a squeaking noise coming from the front of the vehicle, the sway bar bushings and lower ball joints were replaced. Updated 04/30/07.
