I just recently purchased a used Chevy Aveo 07 and the day I test drove it there was not a problem in sight. Not even two days later the problems started. Car stalling, 13 miles to the gal in gas, accelerates when braking, engine light comes on and off, passenger airbag doesn't always come on when there is a passenger... And so much more.

We bought this car new in 2007 with zero miles on it. We've been lifelong Chevy owners, but have not been very happy with car from the beginning. Seems to be not of good quality like the others. About a month ago the check engine light would come on and then go out. Last Friday it came on and stayed on. We took it to a mechanic who put it on the computer and told us that the "pedal throttle sensor switch" was bad. My husband then went to an auto supply store and was finally able to find this part, was told it had to be ordered, since no one carries this in stock as the car is too new. Didn't go thru the chevy dealership, as my husband is able to fix the car. The dealership is too expensive and time consuming for repairs and the car is no longer under warranty. We hope to have the part by this Friday so that my husband can make the repair. The auto shop really advised us not to drive the car till it is fixed as the sensor can cause the throttle to "freeze" while driving and we would not be able to control the car or brake -- it would just keep running even at 55 mph or higher. He said this is what happened with Toyota's a couple of years ago. This could be a tragedy that we are not willing to take. So we are sharing one vehicle and trying to get to work daily in two different cities. What a hassle!!!!

This car had been nothing but trouble since I got it...

- it stalls when I try to accelerate - Rpms jump about four times when i turn it on - Door not sealed properly causes loud noise - Window broke so quick and intaller said it was not even the factory window it was supposed to be - Air conditioning does not work and hasn't worked properly since I got it - Details inside chip and fade - Bad gas mileage - Sideview mirror stopped working since i got it and I have to hold it in place with a paper

I still have three years to pay on it, when I took it in under warranty nothing was ever fixed. I now have to pay thousands to fix it and it is a piece of crap!

Aveo LT Hatchback 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,548 miles

My car would 'die' after 15-25 seconds after being started. It would rev extremely high then poop out. They tell me I fill my gas tank to full. Yep my next complaint will be how it did the same thing to me again a few days ago. I am the only person I know who's car does this to them. p.o.s dealerships!!

Now that my car is not covered....it decided to start skipping when driving on the freeway in the middle of the night. My car would not go faster than 75 mph, then the check engine light clicked on and my car started skipping. Took it to my mechanic today and he told me my f*cking O2 sensor needs to be replaced and my pedal sensor switch.....I hate this car, why won't they just take it back already?

Aveo Hatchback

While driving @ highway speed car will stutter and lose power and momentum for a second.

. Engine RPM's drop and the engine temp gauge drops off. Only lasts a second but very noticeable at highway speed. Will take to dealer to see what they say.
