Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Aveo

  • 35 miles
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminates occasionally when a passenger is seated in the passenger seat. The failure only occurs when the occupant weighs between 110 to 145 pounds, and has been occurring since May 15, 2008. The vehicle has been taken to the repair shop three times regarding the air bag light. She stated that no shop has been able to give her a diagnosis or explanation for the air bag light failure. The contact feels that this is a safety issue because the vehicle is lightweight. She also feels that the air bag should never be deactivated. The current mileage was 2,200 and failure mileage was 35. The consumer stated when she applied the brakes, the vehicle continued to move. After a few seconds. The brake would function and the vehicle would stop. Updated
