The failing multi function switch makes an annoying constant clicking sound that can be heard behind the glove box. Another family member had the same model vehicle, same problem, and it cost over $600 at the dealer to fix. There is no manufacturer recall for 1999 but THERE ARE for other blazer years... it is just a matter of enough people complaining about it, and trust me, there are enough people with this same problem. Complain at http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ . That said, I ran into an amazingly helpful work through of a FREE potential fix for this on an automotive forum. I have not tried it out yet, but it looks legit and has detailed pictures!!! The location is at: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=577320
