On my 2001 Chevy Silverado ext. cab pick up, C1500 series, the paint is bubbling up on both sides of the rear fender wells. As mentioned, both sides at about the same position on a dial, at about the center where it forms with rust forming as well, for no apparent reason. I have, like others here, taken very good care of The Lady (the pick up); cleaned and waxed periodically. There is no explainable reason this should be happening, except possible paint defect, like the previous 8 complaints I read stated.
I had a similar problem with my 1986 Silverado pick up. Painted flaked up and peeled off in the center paint and again, no real reason. Unfortunately caring and quality control had greatly gone down hill over the years here for Chevrolet and GM. If this is being read by any GM upper level workers, guys you need to tighten up quality control, not only in the paint dept. but others as well. Going to try to fix this myself but may end up having to accept it or have it painted by maybe local Chevy House dealership. Don't know yet.
