My son's 2014 Camaro LT RS package ended up hitting a tree.
My son's 2014 Camaro LT fish-tailed and ended up hitting a tree (9/19/15.) He was so lucky. He just twisted his right forearm and felt a little bit of pain the next day and until now.
My son just got off work at 01:00 a.m. When he started the car, he noticed CEL (Check engine light) was on. He switched off the car coz he was concerned and opened the hood looking for something odd. He didn't wanna mess with it and decided to leave cautiously. At the corner he stopped and a coworker's car beside him. As he was going to turn right, the car accelerated, he noticed the speed went up to around 55 mph and, uncontrollably, he was fish-tailing and was so terrified he ended up hitting the palm tree on the median then air bags deployed. His coworker, who was also terrified and worried, saw everything and called the police right away. Cops arrived at the scene within 5 minutes and made an incident report. No damage to the tree.
After taking it to the auto body repair shop, Claim's adjustor said it was totalled after assessing the damage. GM also sent an investigator who came from Arizona, assessed the vehicle and his verdict was, no trouble with the engine. We just bought it, certified used, from the dealership, the 19th of May 2015. My son loved that car so much. I cannot let him have another camaro until they find out about why Camaro LTs always have that CEL on even if it is only slightly used.
