loss of driving power and display of warning lights
On March 2015 I took the car for a normal 30 000 Km service at the Welkom Westvaal Chevrolet Dealer in South Africa (Free State Province). A few days after that it displayed warning lights and lost driving power. I took it several times to the dealer for fixing and a lot of things have been cited as cause of problem ranging from contaminated fuel with water (affecting injector valve) to flat battery to which it was proven that it was not the cause by my lawyer. GM South Africa was also involved in trying to resolve the issue but not to my satisfaction.
The problem happened again for the sixth time in October 2015 when it displayed a service light due at 43 000 Km, I then took it to dealer and was told it will only be due for service at 45 000 Km it must just be reset and they did it twice with no success. On third occasion the dealer suggested I must leave it for overnight to be put in machine to switch off the service light, which I did reluctantly though. The Dealer contacted me claiming that the injector valves are damaged and they have taken fuel sample on their own to their fuel lab for analysis for possible water contamination again.
They came back to me claiming results are positive for water contamination and repairs (injector valve) amounts to R85 000 South African Rands (+-$6000), to my amusement same injector valve was quoted at R35 000 (+-$2500) in June 2015.
Without a car life is difficult for me and family, moreover that the bank is still debiting your account for car loan repayments.
