I have noticed that my 2000 Chevy Cavalier, that I purchased in 2000 brand new from Rothrock, which I would love to say I've enjoyed driving and have taken care of my baby all these years as in washing, waxing, polishing and as the years have pasted I've noticed on several Cavaliers driving in the street I have stopped the owners and and engaged in a conversation about the wearing and discoloration of the Cavaliers in the green color as in my car they all seem to be wearing and discoloring on the roof, hood, truck and some doors.

I believe that the year 2000 and beyond with that particular color it was faulty paint, because if you take care of your care as I do there should be no way that my care should be wearing and discoloring . I know you have received several complaints about the same issues and I would like to know what Chevy plans to due to make customers whole. Why is it only the green cars fading and no any other color in that year and beyond.

I would like some feedback on this problem and who I need to further this issue to. If you feel as thou this is not a issue then just put a recall out for the owners with the 2000 yr and beyond for that color to send in any issues with there car and I know you will receive lots of complaints. We all like our cars and value the Chevy name but this leaves a bad taste and look on my car looking like a misfit and not a well taken care of machine. Please email me any information to this effect as to what a customer's option is. Thank you sad owner

It was rather disappointing to see large unsightly patches appearing to be worn away on my car roof. It has never been scratched and nothing sits or leans on the top, so there was no reason for the warn paint. The quoted cost for just a roof repaint was $400. I had to take a 5% paycut in my job, so that cost was not possible. I tried to paint it myself and there is no matching spray paint for my car made these days, so I had to go to a specialty car paint store and have them mix the color. My paint job is not particularly attractive, but it will keep the roof from rusting. Chevy maybe needs to get better paint.
