It seems like it is the fuel injector. It runs, but every once in a while it won't start. After the new fuel injector the next day it wouldn't start. It starts and you drive it awhile and you stop and try it after about 15 minutes and it won't start. If you leave it for approx 2 or 3 hours it will start again. Problem keeps reoccurring. We put in a new ignition switch and the problem is still occurring. The Chevrolet dealer can't figure it out and now I have it at a private mechanic and he has checked over all of the electrical system and he installed the ignition switch. Still it doesn't work. It starts and you can run it for quite a while, but if you stop and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes it won't start again. It is driving both my mechanic and I nuts. Does anyone have any solutions?

Frustration to the MAX, My 2000 Cavalier LS has a starting problem. Cold or at operating temperature it is very very hard to start, taking up to 10 minutes or more at times. If it is the least bit humid or wet out, look out. If I drive a short distance and stop, starting again is a nightmare. The dealer has replaced everything in the fuel delivery system to include the fuel pump (at my suggestion). This morning as an example, with a full tank of gas and a new fuel pump, it acted as if the fuel/air mixture was off and the main vehicle computer was being sent the wrong information. I just get a air rush sound but no start until after many tries. The vehicle starter and battery are wearing out. The mystery is, the vehicle runs fine once started but to get it to start AHHHHHHHHH. If anyone out there has a similiar problem, any help would be appreciated. The next steps are a visit to a private garage or finding a cliff to drive it off of before the "will it start or will I need a tow" psychological stress becomes too much. thanks!

The problem occurs when the car is turned off for about 5 to 10 minutes. If I wait an hour the car starts "on a dime". If I restart the car in a few minutes (like the time it takes to fill it with gas) it starts "on a dime". All the electric comes on but there is just silence.
