This problem should have been fixed by now with these cars from the amount of complaints and reports on it. Key stuck, car running, can't turn off, can't get the key out, have to pull fuse, disconnect battery, tumblers in switch broken and jammed up.................Major PITA! Many years of production and problem is still there!

Local Chevy dealer replaced the lock cylinder and housing under a GM recall. My insurance paid for the tow to the dealer.

So I pull into the garage, put the car in park and I cannot turn off the iginition switch. It's stuck in the ACC position. I try everything I could think of, moved the car, put it in a different gear, turned the wheel, moved the stearing column up and down. Nothing!!! Called 3 guy friends and they had me go through all of the above steps again while they are on the phone. Finally, one friend comes over and disconnects the battery, then we pull the gas fuse. All of this just to get the car off. It sat running for over an hour! Who can afford that when gas is $3.85/gallon!! This is really a pain. Am I going to have to have my car towed or do you think it might start up again since the key is already in the on position? Tomorrow will tell because I'm not in the mood to try anything tonight!

This happened on my son's car while he was working a job out of state, luckily he had a friend who was able to help him get back and forth while car was being repaired. This car is only 2 1/2 years old and has had several issues.
